Sleep Cycle And Patterns Are Linked To Good Health

 

Sleep cycle and patterns are quite interesting. It helps in pinpointing the reasons behind disturbed sleep patterns. Variables such as time of going to bed, room temperature and sounds that invoke sleep helps a person to figure out how to get the best sleep. Sleep cycle also reveals the best sleep strategies.

 

For instance reading a thriller before going to sleep keeps me awake while an entertaining novel makes me sink into deep sleep. Sleep cycle and pattern is not a scientific tool for people who have medical sleep issues but rather a method wherein an insight of sleeping patterns can be judged. There are numerous factors like the distance of phone from the bed along with physical ailments that disturbs the sleeping cycle.

 

I am one of those people who suffer from circadian rhythm sleep disorders. This makes it difficult for me to sleep and wake up at the time required for daily routine work and social needs. The sleeping pattern affects body temperature, appetite and my desire and ability to fall asleep is influenced by both the length of time I wake up from sleep and by the internal circadian rhythms. I have often seen that my sleep disorders are related to jet lag or whenever I am working night shifts. This is truly problematic since the irregular sleep and wake patterns make me nod-off at odd hours and disturbs my work pattern. However, the short naps fulfill my daily sleep requirements but i am worried and wish somebody help me getting pregnant.

 

My friend Sally, unlike me, has healthy sleeping pattern. She wakes up early and goes off to sleep at regular hours. This healthy sleeping pattern keeps her fresh and lively throughout the day. The healthy sleep regimen also allows Sally to sleep and wake up at the same time every day. Being healthy, Sally is able to advance her sleep phase by about half an hour each day. Her daily routine gets completed on time which leaves her with ample leisure time and she has become pregnant with PCOS

 

On the contrary I am one of those who are unable to reset sleep / wake cycle in response to environmental time cues. It becomes quite embarrassing for me when unexpected guests drop in and find me snoozing during daytime. Being frustrated by my untimely sleep patterns, I consulted my physician friend that what was the secret to getting pregnancy and she told me to avoid taking naps, caffeine and other stimulants. Medications like melatonin, a sleep inducing and wake promoting agent also aids in maintaining a regular sleeping cycle.
