Signs Of Infertility You Should Know
Infertility means, in a woman it is an inability to conceive; in a man it is an inability to impregnate. Of course there are many stipulations to the term infertility and this must not be confused with sterility. Understanding the signs and causes of infertility is very important before going for treatments. If you suspect you are infertile, you can watch out for these signs of infertility. These signs alone do not specifically suggest that you are infertile if you have them; instead you should be guided to consult an experienced medical practitioner if you suspect you have some signs of infertility.
Signs of Infertility In Women
Among the many varied possible signs of infertility, the most common infertility in women is an irregular menstrual cycle. If the monthly discharge of blood from the uterus of nonpregnant women is irregular may be one of the signs of infertility, but it does not necessarily mean that you are infertile.
Other signs of infertility can be a weight problem. Some women who are too thin and bordering on emaciation can have a problem conceiving because they lack the proper nutrients. On the other hand, thin people have no problem conceiving. Obesity can also be one of the signs of infertility. People who are obese sometimes suffer from hormonal problems, which in turn can affect their reproductive system.
Substance and alcohol abuse can also be signs of infertility. If they can make a person unable to conceive, then they are the causes of infertility rather than signs of infertility. Frequently taking illegal drugs and other substances that can harm the body will likely result in infertility problem. These substances and alcohol abuse will discourage the proper growth and conception of fetuses.
What To Look For In Men
Some of the signs of infertility in men and women are similar. These include weight problems like obesity and substance abuse. These signs of infertility affect men in the same way that they affect women. They cause the body to malfunction in such a way that it cannot host a fetus or produce the right amount or form of sperm to conceive. Anatomic or physical problems may also be signs of infertility in men. One of a proven factor of infertility would be the undescended testicles. For conception, wearing tight jeans or underwear can cause the men unable to produce viable sperm. Exposure of their scrotum and gonads to heat can also affect their ability to produce children.
Although you may have the signs of infertility, but it does not mean that you are infertile. It is always best to consult a specialist for infertility treatments if you have difficulty conceiving for more than a year.
